Things Mama is worried about...

The last couple of weeks, I have been more tuned into what is going on in our country and our world.

I worry about our soldiers, are we fighting an endless war similar to Vietnam?  Are we as a country trying to force what we want on other countries, instead of letting them live as they live?  Can we as a country really make a change?  Once we leave Iraq, will it stay as it is today?  I don't think so.

The oil spill, wow...  I am amazed with our government lack of response to helping those so destroyed by this disaster.  This is a man made disaster, one that is changing lives on a minute by minute basis.  There is a link below Evacuate Louisiana, watch it... it will change how you see the spill, it might become a real disaster to you.

Call me a worry wart, call me in panic mode, call me whatever, but I worry as a parent what kind of world we are leaving for our children.

The debt of this nation is out of control!  Dave Ramsey where are you?

Our fellow citizens can't find work, are losing their homes left and right, why?  Because of our government?  Because they let Freddie and Fannie out of control?  Bail them out?  Sure.. they did...but what about the people?  What happens to them? Our government does not care.  Listen please.... THEY DO NOT CARE!!!

Don't misunderstand, there are those who have taken advantage of the unemployment extensions, deliberately not finding work.  But I can say I honestly have put out so many applications, I have lost count.  I know of one particular position that had 50 applicants, 5 of which had masters degrees.  All for one clerical position.  There are truly some of us who can't even get a phone call, much less an interview.  I am not a 99'er...I am a 26er... no extensions.

If we the people do not band together and make the changes to this country with our vote in November, I worry again, we will be in more trouble than we are today.

This week will be interesting to watch the news unfold.

My prayer:  Lord, with all I have inside my heart, I pray you will help all of us who know and love the Word you have given us to live by.  Help please, those suffering in so many way, and touch them with your healing hand and give them strength to endure life as we see it unfolding before our very eyes.  I ask with a humble heart you will wake up your people, cause a revival to occur in our country that has never been seen before.  Thank you Lord in advance for the prayers you have answered and for hearing our cries.  These things I ask in your Son's precious name, Jesus Christ....   Amen

  3. Hi, MamaBair..it's Azalea. I absolutely agree with you 1000%! My favorite saying in the Bible?

    Matthew 6:25-34 Do Not Worry

"25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
